Current Volunteer Opportunities from our 60-70 Full Partner Agencies. These are
listed in the alphabetical order by agency name. In general, these opportunities are also listed
in our national 1-800-Volunteer database which is one of the many benefits that our Full Partner
Agencies enjoy.
In addition to our Full Partner Agencies, we also
have about 300 Associate Partner Agencies to
whom we refer volunteers seeking opportunities; some of
their volunteer needs are listed as one-time and short-term

Groups and Individuals Needed for Snow
Patrol: The Department of Aging and Disabilities is partnering
with the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County and the Citizens
Corps Council to recruit and deploy church youth groups, families
(and individuals),
scouts, and high school groups as well as adult organizations for
the "Snow Patrol". Isolated seniors with medical needs and
individuals with disabilities need assistance with removing snow and
ice during winter storms so that driveways and sidewalks can be
accessed by caregivers or so that the affected seniors can reach the
street to be provided transportation for medical care, etc. This is
a call for groups and individuals to register with the Volunteer Center for the Snow
Patrol. Volunteers need to contact us now and must pre-register in
order to help residents with disabilities and medical needs during
this winter's storms. A background check is required.

Attention Donors!
The Volunteer Center is listed with GuideStar/JustGive Charities. To go to our GuideStar page,
Click Here. Your donation will help us continue to send willing individuals and groups to volunteer
with more than 290 agencies to meet the community needs.
The start of this holiday season reminds us of the many local families in need of support and services just at the
time when the nonprofits who can help meet those needs are facing their own struggles. Yet, we are also seeing
volunteers reaching out to assist those in need – offering food, special care and compassion.
Here are a few examples of how
the Volunteer Center has been connecting people with opportunities to serve others in Anne Arundel County:
- We help children in danger of dropping out of school by
recruiting tutors and mentors for more than 40 local programs.
- By Recruiting over 300 volunteers and joining forces with 60 agencies for County Executive
Leopold's Annual Homeless Resource Days which provided each year more than 400 local homeless individuals and
families, or those at risk of being homeless, with medical care, substance abuse resources, mental health
counseling, housing and job assistance, and much more.
- We send volunteers to community assistance programs, food banks and shelters because
financial stress and unemployment can lead to psychological despair and homelessness.
The Volunteer Center invites you to share your giving heart with your neighbors and your community by supporting
volunteering. In these challenging times when our community is more dependent than ever on volunteers, the
role of the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County in mobilizing volunteers is more crucial than ever!
Since the Volunteer Center opened in 2001, we have referred more than 15,000 volunteers to over 340 nonprofit,
governmental and faith-based agencies creating nearly $2 Million of added value to our County in volunteer time per
year. The bottom line is volunteering isn't just nice, it's necessary to solving some of our toughest local
challenges. In this time of goodwill, the Volunteer Center needs your support to recruit, train and deploy people
who want to play a part in meeting our community's critical needs. You can make a secure donation from this
website by clicking on the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County "Donate" (upper) button or the Just Give
"Donate Now" (lower) button.
|

Another easy way to help support the Volunteer Center or any other cause you care about is through a new search
engine powered by Yahoo! called GoodSearch, which will make a donation to your favorite charity or school
with every search. It doesn't cost you a thing — the money comes from the advertisers. We are asking you to
support the Volunteer Center by using
GoodSearch. Every time you do a search you contribute about a penny to The Volunteer Center! We need all
the pennies we can generate because we are no longer supported by Anne Arundel County funding.
The Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization, donations to which are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
